Accessories
Eagle Eye Productions prides itself on using only the best equipment on the market today. This page shows some of the smaller items that we use in productions. We are constantly looking for new products to enhance and make productions easier. For the latest technology Red One:
We have added the Origo remote start/stop button with a 50 foot cable. Origo is an intelligent start and stop switch for the RED One Camera. It allows remote start and stop of the camera and also provides single frame capture and frame ramp triggering. It is used primarily as a start/stop, other functions are in camera settings. This switch is critical for operations of the Red One. The Arri Alexa high definition camera can use the BarTech (shown below) for remote start/stop, as well as focus.
For Film Cameras And HD Productions: Originally designed as a video crane, the CamMate camera cranes are easily adaptable for film cameras. Both 16mm and small 35mm (Arri BL3, Arri 435 and movie-cam) work very well on the CamMate, with weight being the primary concern. Use a lightweight matte box, and a 400 foot mag. (side by side if possible, never a thousand foot mag.). The BarTech wireless follow focus system with Heden motors is pictured below. The Bartech wireless follow focus! The CamMate Systems can operate all ENG style lenses that a studio configuration can be added. For the cine style lenses, or primes, we use a BarTech system. The Bartech system since it's introduction has rapidly become a film industry standard for Steadicams and cranes alike. It is a very easy to use and dependable piece of equipment that controls focus and camera start/stop. For situations with RF interference, we have the option of a 50' cable, making this a wired remote system. 12 and 24 volt "Y" cables for Arri Cameras. Additional items that are needed that we do not supply: Power for the camera, a long power cord to power the camera (remember that the camera is at the end of the crane and batteries add weight), and of course a video assist tap. If a zoom lens is used, a wireless or wired remote is needed to operate the zoom. Certain cameras need a start/stop cable extension. Please Contact Us for your specific situation for further information and pricing.
Monitors! Eagle Eye Productions uses only Sony high resolution monitors: two 8 inch field monitors, (one is supplied for each crane) and a 5 inch monitor is for the operator to use as a program feed for live events. The Sony standard definition monitors that we use are model numbers: PVM 8045, PVM 9L3, and PVM 5045. Now offering the new LMD-9050 multi-format monitor and the OLED 740W for High Definition shoots, eliminating the need to down convert the HD signal for crane operator or anyone on set. All of the monitors that we use are the highest quality, and are usually the best on set.
Boom Pedestal Leveler! For quick location changes on rough terrain, the new boom pedestal leveler allows easier, faster leveling of the pedestal: seconds instead of minutes. There is no need to level the entire base every time that you reposition. The NEW 360 degree Dutch Roll Head! A New innovation from CamMate The 360 degree Dutch Roll Head. For the latest most technically advanced movement in the industry. This head allows the camera to roll five times in either direction with a one button push back to center. Excellent for concerts and music events. The roll reacts with the same smooth action as the pan and tilt of the "L" shaped head. This head is a Eagle Eye Productions exclusive, and is available for rent to other CamMate owners. Contact us for specific uses and pricing. Dutch Head!
The CamMate Dutch Head gives 22 degrees of rotation in either direction. Primarily used for concerts and music videos. This unit attaches to the bottom of the camera deck, and is used for applications where a multi-core CCU cable is used to control the camera. Unit is available for an additional charge. Both Dutch Heads are available for rent to other CamMate owners.
Remote Power! For remote location shooting, two battery systems are used. From NRG research, the Power Can with 4-4 pin outlets and the T-Pack portable power systems from T-Jib can power two monitors, the crane system, and tally light for more than 12 hours. Go anywhere, no matter how remote the location is. We try to anticipate your needs and strive to have all the equipment and cables that are needed for a successful crane production. All of our equipment is kept in "Like New" condition and is regularly checked to minimize the possibility of breakdown.
You can mount a Teleprompter! A teleprompter may also be added to the head for talent to read copy. It is recommended that a flat screen be used for weight concerns. However, pictured below is a small QTV teleprompter that was mounted on a DVcam on a 43' crane on the USS Yorktown. Eagle Eye Productions does not own a teleprompter, but we can assist you in finding what you need.
